Jesse Boumelha
Post-doctoral Fellow
Jesse Boumelha obtained his PhD in 2022 at the Francis Crick Institute in London under the supervision of Professor Julian Downward.
There he studied the role of tumour-intrinsic oncogenic signalling in suppressing anti-tumour immunity and driving immunotherapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma.
Since joining the Merad lab, he has been interested in understanding the role of myeloid cells in colorectal cancer progression and immunotherapy resistance. He will combine deep molecular profiling of mouse models and patient samples to identify myeloid programs that regulate anti-tumour immunity in colorectal cancer with an aim to identify novel targets that can be leveraged to overcome immunotherapy resistance.
